Welcome to our best Rise of Kingdoms review. First of all, what exactly makes Rise of Kingdoms a great real-time strategy game that galvanized mobile gaming? Rise of Kingdoms is currently one of the most popular games available to both Android and iOS users, with the option to play games on PC.
Choose your starting civilization and command armies on the vast kingdom. Forge friendships and form alliances combined with courage, brute strength, determination, and making last-minute decisions. Rise of Kingdoms encompasses all essential diplomacy cores: intellect, cunning, and education.
Some alliances prefer power through peace and dominate their kingdom with mighty military force. However, you will be free to reign as the leader in your kingdom and write the history as you always have dreamed. Become the leader of the free world, or become a dictator and control your kingdom through military, fear, and force.
Everything comes with a price, and that all depends on you as the world leader of the kingdom. Rule your kingdom with an iron fist, and you will see golden ages come around for years. Face an uprising force who wishes to topple you and your alliance, lose control and watch everything fall apart.
Rise of Kingdoms is a dynamic real-time strategy mobile gaming that focuses on expanding your empire through diplomacy, military, technology, and economically. But what makes this game so addicting and great? Stick around with us to read through our in-depth Rise of Kingdoms review to find out.
Development

Rise of Kingdoms: Lost Crusade developed by Lilith Games, a famous Chinese-based mobile gaming developer. Originally, Rise of Kingdoms was released in 2018 as Rise of Civilizations but had to change the title name to avoid any possible confusion.
If you are not familiar with their work on Rise of Kingdoms, you probably have heard of popular games such as Art of Conquest, Soul Hunters, and AFK Arena. As a result, Rise of Kingdoms became one of the greatest games because Lilith Games used it to brand their real-time strategy / city-building MMO game.
The game has more than 12 civilizations and over 70 commanders to choose from a diversified background, including Ragnar Lodbrok, Bjorn Ironside, Moctezuma I, Charles Martel, Sun Tzu, and Cleopatra VII. Rise of Kingdoms also gets game updates monthly, so there are always new events, commanders, and game systems to keep players engaged.
Gameplay

You know that House of Kingdoms is one of the biggest Rise of Kingdoms guides and tips. We are absolutely sucker for a great real-time strategy game that involves building your empire through diplomacy and military. However, Rise of Kingdoms has an exciting twist to the game because players, not the game, write the history.
Each kingdom’s history is very different from others, which isn’t a bad thing. After all, you can write your own story on your kingdom server. The game functions are robust, simple to understand, and super easy to use for all players. Though other games run similar to Rise of Kingdoms, such as the Infinity Kingdom, it is also one of the first mobile games to incorporate concepts of civilizations, ages, leaders, commanders, technologies, and history, which is quite impressive.
These game aspects make Rise of Kingdoms unique and different, serving both genres like real-time strategy and city-building. Rise to become the king and seize the kingdom throne, from rags to riches. Take command of your armies and lead your kingdom into the new age of prosperity.
You will start the game by picking a civilization that you will lead. Each civilization comes with traits of its own and a starting commander who will lead your troops on the battlefield. There are several civilizations to choose from: Britain, France, Spain, Germany, Arabia, Byzantium, Ottoman, Rome, Korea, Japan, and China.
Are there any plans to expand civilization options? I am not quite sure. However, I can assure you that they are adding more and more commanders on each game update. Eventually, Lilith Games will create new civilizations such as the Vikings to make the game exciting and realistic while remaining historically accurate.

There’s no wrong way to play a game in Rise of Kingdoms as you are free to decide your path. But if you want to become the best player in your kingdom, you will need to make friends and form an alliance to dominate those who wish to oppose you. So make the decisions carefully because someday, you will find yourself in need of help, and those players in your kingdom can be one of the greatest allies.
At the beginning of the game, you will spend most of your time doing daily quests, upgrading your buildings, and training troops. As you progress through periods, your city will expand and unlock new buildings. Soon enough, you will find yourself exposed to a wide-open field. You will have to search and find an alliance to join to earn protection and technology bonuses.
Not only you get there, but you will also be able to work with your alliance members to form rallies against barbarian forts and sometimes against formidable enemies to teach them lessons. Of course, barbarians are weak at the beginning of the game. But trust me, they will grow in power as the kingdom ages over time.
Soon enough, you will need to establish a robust military presence to handle these barbarians. Even you will find yourself chasing after enemy farmers and plunder them for resources. Upon reaching the final tier, you get to unleash the game’s true potential by commanding up to 5 armies and wreaking havoc on the battlefield through the use of force.
Rise of Kingdoms is an exciting game that takes to a whole new level. You get to interact directly with your allies, enemies, and neutral players through the use of diplomacy and military. Lastly, being in an alliance is a fantastic opportunity to create friendships and new opportunities that enriches your gaming experience in Rise of Kingdoms — unlike other mobile games.
Graphics & Tech Compatibility

It shouldn’t come across to you as surprisingly because the Rise of Kingdoms graphics is relatively high-level. The design and graphics are appealing, colorful, and completely done in a cartoonish style that might remind you of some famous characters like Mulan. Even so, the visual designers and animators at Lilith Games have done a great job, and they might have gone a bit overboard with cuteness and sexiness.
Granted, they might have done it on purpose to cater to the taste of a large audience. But, unfortunately, most gamers who enjoy this type of design are carefree, puppy-eyed characters and slightly caricatured designs. But do take this with a grain of salt if you are inclined to game design like Rise of Kingdoms because the visuals are darn quite likable.
So, where can you enjoy playing Rise of Kingdoms? As of currently, the game works with both Android and iOS devices. However, if you want to take advantage of more features, options, better gameplay, and smoother animation, you can download Rise of Kingdoms for PC then link to your game account.
For Android users, version 4.1 is the minimum requirement you need to play the game. For iOS users, whether you own iPads, iPods, or iPhones, you will need at least iOS 8.0 or later to operate the game. As I mentioned previously, you can play Rise of Kingdoms on PC. If you are unsure whether you should, perhaps my top 8 reasons will convince you to play on your PC instead.
Free-to-Play Friendly

Lastly, Rise of Kingdoms is one of the best free-to-play-friendly games. It’s not like other games because Rise of Kingdoms functions very differently. For example, whales in your kingdom don’t go after you because they focus on securing your kingdom and protect free-to-play players like you from enemy invaders.
Sure, P2W players might be a bit aggressive in the beginning because they want to take control of critical holy sites and dominate the kingdom by themselves. However, as the game progresses, it becomes easier and F2P friendly to play the game regardless of your gaming and experience level.
Not to forget to mention that there are tons of whale alliances who will be more than happy to take in Free-to-Play players and help them grow. Opportunities are endless as a F2P player, and you get the best of both worlds in Rise of Kingdoms.
Sure, your life will be a bit easier if you are willing to spend some of your money on boosting commanders, gems, and blueprints. But I can assure you that they are not required.
