Hello and welcome to our in-depth guide: How to Chain Farm Barbarians for Beginners. If you are a free-to-play player and you are tired of finding yourself out of action points.

Then look no further because you have come to the right place. In this guide, I will teach you how to chain farm barbarians easily in Rise of Kingdoms.

Best of all? You don’t even need to spend all of your action points! I have been playing Rise of Kingdoms as a free-to-play player, and I can’t stress enough how many times I found myself out of action points.

How annoying! If you are in the same boat like I once used to be. Then this guide is for you.

You can farm up to 10 barbarians and spend only 40 action points. You heard it right, 40 action points, and that’s all. The real trick to chain farm barbarians require a commander pair with peacekeeping ability for several reasons:

And then you need a commander that can pick up barbarians along the way without directly hitting them. So how do you do that?

Well, that’s what this whole guide is about, right? Without further ado, here’s a step-by-step explanation of how to chain farm barbarians the easy way.

Step-by-Step Guide: How to Chain Farm Barbarians

In this section, we are going through step-by-step how to get you started with chain farming barbarians. What you will need during your first few attempts at chain farming method:

  • Strong commanders
  • Use infantry troops only.
  • Patience, a lot of patience.
  • Practice until you master.

That being said, we will go through preparation phase next.

Step 1: Preparation Phase

Best Barbarian Farming Location Rise of Kingdoms Guide

The first thing you need to do before you start chain farming barbarians. You need to teleport to a mountains with right-angle shape within the Zone 3 region.

In Zone 3 region, you can find all barbarians from Level 1 to 25. The reason why you will want to teleport next to the mountains is because the barbarians usually spawn in a tight area.

With so many barbarians sprawling close to each other, it makes the whole chain farming method a lot easier as opposed to when you are in wide-open field.

Scout out your Kingdom Map a bit until you find the perfect location. If the spot you want to relocate is taken, try look for other area or teleport close to them if you are strong enough to handle the opposing governors.

It also helps if you are in one of the top alliances in your server as they should be able to occupy passes to allow teleporting across the zones.

Step 2: Select a Primary Commander

Now that you have relocated to a spot where it is sprawling with high-level barbarians. Your next step is to select a primary commander.

I always highly recommend for any players to have their primary commander with peacekeeping ability. Mainly because you will be fighting barbarians, and that’s where the peacekeeping commanderstalent builds will excel the most.

In addition to that, you want to have a primary commander that can deal splash damage, which causes indirect hits, such as Aethelflaed.

It’s instrumental because if you are fighting against a high-level barbarian and your commander deals indirect damage with an active skill, another group of barbarians nearby.

The barbarians that are indirectly hit on the map will start attacking your commander, and it does not cost any action points. So here’s a lit of recommended commanders for chain farming barbarians:

Best Peacekeeping Commanders:

Important Note: for optimal barbarian farming, I recommend infantry troops. They are slower, bulky, and have more health. The infantry troops also will not lose sight of the barbarians as you kite around to pick up more groups.

Step 3: Select a Secondary Commander

Once you have your primary commander selected, it is time to select a secondary commander to pair with.

As long as you are using infantry troops, it shouldn’t matter if you pick any of these infantry commanders since they will grant major health, defense and attack stat boost.

At the same time, you will want to have a secondary commander that can deal splash damage to maximize overall damage output. Fortunately, as a free-to-play player, there’s plenty of great commanders to choose from.

One of the easiest legendary commanders to start with is Mehmed II to pair with your primary peacekeeping commander.

You also can choose alternative if you don’t have a legendary commander yet. Here’s a list of commanders that will make a good secondary pairing for farming barbarians:

Recommended Secondary Commanders for Pairing:

Important Note: Make sure your primary commander is skilled into Trophy Hunter, which gives you 15 Level 1 Resource Pack C (Grants 1,000 Food / 1,000 Wood / 750 Stone or 500 Gold randomly) after defeating barbarians.

This is a nice way to reap in resources handsomely for less Action Points spent.

Step 4: Start Chain Farming Barbarians

The next step in this guide will show you how to start chain-farming barbarians. To do this, you need to follow these step-by-step instructions:

  • Search for all Barbarians from Level 1 to Level 25. (Note, there’s a 1 minute restriction after spawning more than 4 barbarians groups. You will have to wait before spawning more).
  • Keep doing until you reach 25 Barbarian Groups from Level 1 to Level 25.
  • Launch attack at the highest level Barbarians & pull to other barbarian groups. Your dispatch will defend themselves and use AoE active skill which will damage other barbarians.

Because of the way the game system works in Rise of Kingdoms, you only can search to locate a specific level of the barbarian group.

For instance, you can’t search to find two levels of 25 barbarians unless they spawned in the wilderness. Therefore, if you want to maximize your rewards and experience gain from chain farming barbarians.

It’s a good idea to spawn barbarians from all levels as your commanders will not spend any additional action points while under attack.

Even though your commanders only can fight up to 10 barbarians at a time, you will only spend 40 action points for 25 barbarians.

If you attack each barbarian individually, you will spend 1,000 action points. Now, 40 AP for 25 barbarians sounds like an excellent deal, right?

As we conclude our guide on how to chain farm barbarians for beginners. You should know how to farm barbarians more effectively by utilizing these simple tricks and tips:
