In this guide, we are going to cover the basics and show you how to maximize rewards during the Strife of the Eight event. As a free-to-play player, you will always want to be able to aim high as you can to reap in rewards.
Especially when you want to level up commanders and grow in power fast enough to be able to compete against other players in Rise of Kingdoms. That being said, let’s find out what you can do during the Strife of the Eight event.
What is Strife of the Eight?
It is a Kingdom vs Kingdom (KvK) event that takes the place after the Heroic Anthem Season of Conquest. In this story chapter, the barbarians control the ancient land in a state of chaotic anarchy.
As a governor of the kingdom, it’s your duty to drive the barbarians out, secure the borders and plant the seeds of civilizations. Before you formulate a conquest strategy, you will be facing against other kingdoms who are vying for control of the Lost Kingdom.
In Strife of the Eight event, anything can happen as it is a winner-takes-all war. Wars, friendships, betrayals, and subterfuge are at all time high. Who will rightfully claim the throne and control with mighty power?
Strife of the Eight System
In case you are wondering how Strife of the Eight works, all governors will have to be on outlook for an important structure called Bastions. There are 12 in total and your alliance / kingdom must capture them to gain Favor by completing quests from the Bastion Commanders.
Furthermore, controlling these Bastions will increase the Crystal Production Rate which is crucial to advancing your alliance technology that requires crystals to research. Capture as many as you can to take advantage of Favor and increased Crystal Production Rate.
Bastion is a crucial structure that are spread out across the Lost Kingdom. Each Bastion is led by a commander and their troops. There are 12 Bastions in total for the governors to go find and capture to start gaining Favor and increased Crystal Production Rate.
When the Bastion is occupied by a Kingdom, the coalition gain increased crystal production rate that is especially very important resources for researching technology advancement in Heroic Anthem Season Conquest. Capture as many as you can to take advantage of the perks it has to offer.
Another important key factor that all governors should also be keen of is Favor. By completing quests from the Bastion Commanders, you will gain Favor with them. Each time you level up your Favor level with the Bastion Commanders, you will gain increased Crystal Mine work speed.
With increased Crystal Work Mine speed, you will be able to produce even more crystals and contribute more towards your coalition / alliance technology advancement and gain competitive edge over other kingdoms in terms of science, strength and military superiority.
Strife of the Eight Features
There are several new features and game content in Strife of the Eight. Check them out!
|Crystal Mines||After the season has begun, governors can build a new structure in their cities: crystal mines.|
|Working the Mines||You can ‘Work’ in the crystal mines to get crystals. Working the mines costs food, wood, stone, and gold.|
|Upgrade||Upgrading the crystal mine will increase the maximum amount of work which can be ordered. At the same time, completing quests given by commanders will increase the work speed.|
|Crystals||The crystals which can be mined here are a precious resource. Governors can use them to open up a whole new frontier of research.|
|Resource Protection||During the season, crystals cannot be plundered by attackers or sent as aid.|
|Reset||Crystals will be removed once the season is over. Crystal mines, the crystal research center, and any the effects of any research completed therein will be reset and removed.|
Strife of the Eight: Coalition System
In Strife of the Eight story chapter, alliances will be able to form a coalition and rally their troops to war. Forming a coalition is imperative to paving the path to victory for your alliance and your kingdom.
Here’s list of perks for being in a coalition:
- Governors can join a coalition along with their alliance.
- Governors in the same coalition can join each other’s rallies, garrisons, reinforce and repair each other buildings.
- Governors in the same coalition can grant alliance help.
- After the Past Glory event, Coalition members can teleport to any alliance’ territory.
- All coalition members will gain Reward Sharing such as first occupation rewards for Holy Sites and Passes.
- All coalition members will gain boosts and effects from occupying holy sites.
- All coalition members will share occupation bonuses from Altars of Darkness and Ancient Ruins.
Strife of the Eight Rewards
Governors can exchange season coins and conquest coins for various prizes during the Strife of the Eight story!
|Season Coins||Complete research projects in the crystal research center to earn season coins.|
|Conquest Coins||Complete enough Crusader Achievements to earn conquest coins.|
|Unused Coins||Unused season coins and conquest coins will automatically be saved for next season.|
Strife of the Eight Camp System
In this story chapter, all governors and kingdoms will be grouped into different camps. Each camp will contain at least one kingdom. To ensure camps are balanced, the power of all kingdoms will be counted by the game system and calculated to ensure fair game matchmaking.
List of Camps
Below is a list of camps that each kingdom will be assigned to:
|Fire Camp||Warriors, honoring their ancestors’ covenant, answer the king’s call. Gathering at the flame altar, they swear allegiance to the ancestors and the flame. They shall be a raging, inextinguishable fire.|
|Earth Camp||Pious warriors rallied to their kings at the earth altar, kissing the sacred land in an oath to restore their ancestors’ honor. Their knowledge of the land allows them to march effortlessly|
|Wind Camp||Kings lead their warriors toward the sanctum in the eye of the storm. Only those who pass the trials of the winds are worthy allies. For those that do, the blessings of the wind are well worth it|
|Water Camp||On the orders of their kings, the warriors gathered at the surge altar. Dreaming of huge waves each night, they are as relentless and unending as the sea itself|
|Camp Greenwood||Resolute kings and warriors have come to the Sanctum of Hope in order to collect the leaves from the surrounding area. Their long-lasting evergreen freshness brings hope of survival to those who gaze upon them, a reminder to look forward to a time of peace.|
|Camp Daybreak||Kings and warriors preparing for a long campaign will often first journey to the Shrine of Radiance. After several days spent in prayer, the dawn will finally rise on the day to set forth, shrouding them in bright light, an omen of glorious victories to come.|
|Camp Midnight||On the eve of expeditions, kings and warriors have come to the Sanctum of Courage. Here, the warriors learn to no longer fear the darkness, but to adapt to it. In the name of the shadow, the dark night will be their silent ally.|
|Camp Thunderbolt||Kings and warriors test their weapons at the Storm Altar. Having passed through thunder and lightning, their weapons and spirits will be mighty and unbreakable.|
