Welcome to our Light and Darkness Rise of Kingdoms guide for beginners. This kingdom vs. kingdom is the most popular event where you get to fight with your allies against enemy kingdoms. The Light and Darkness will divide 8 kingdoms into two big teams that must work together to win the war.
The winning team will earn massive rewards including legendary commander sculptures, stars, gems, speedups and more. The duration of kingdoms vs kingdoms lasts 60 days.
The only time that we believe it’s important to be active in Rise of Kingdoms is during Light and Darkness events. Because this is the only time you will get to witness the true power and teamwork of your kingdom along with alliances working together to win the game.
If you happen to be active, you will have no issue getting plenty of rewards that boosts your growth. Thus, our Light and Darkness Rise of Kingdoms guide is built for beginners who want to learn how to become an effective team player. In order to participate in this KVK event, you need to have your City Hall at least level 17 or you will not be able to join. For older KVK events, you can check them out here.
How to Teleport in Light & Darkness KVK
In order to teleport your city to the Light and Darkness KVK map, you will have to press the Sun icon which is located in the right top corner of your screen. After you press it then you will see options that say teleport.
Tap on the teleport button and you will be relocated to a random location in the Lost Kingdom starting zone. To return from the Lost Kingdom, the process is the same but you will need to have a targeted teleport available.
Light and Darkness Lost Kingdom Map
The Light and Darkness lost kingdom map is designed to be different from its previous Lost Kingdom maps. In the middle is where the first big fight will happen. If you are not prepared with speedups and resources, do not worry because you will have plenty of time to get more.
On the Light and Darkness map, you will see a lot of ruins. You only can send up to one troop to each ruin. If you experience some lag while playing Light and Darkness, I recommend you to try out Rise of Kingdoms emulator on your PC to see if it fixes the issue.
Each team will have the same amount of buildings. But here’s a catch, if your enemy team manages to destroy one of your team’s buildings. You can’t repair them at all and your enemy team will get points for that.
This is especially important because the points will be calculated at the end of the event to determine who wins KVK and rewards. Having a great kingdom and allies is crucial to winning the event.
If you are wondering how to get more rewards in the Light and Darkness event, you can visit your monument and it will reveal list of rewards as well as how to obtain them. Doing this way is a great way to get more gems, golden keys ans sometimes unique items.
Just like the original rewards in your home kingdom, all these rewards via the Lost Kingdom chronicles can be done by yourself, your alliance, your kingdom or the entire kingdoms on the map. So, make sure to work together to complete all of your objectives to maximize your rewards.
Grace of Soluna
Another key feature that you must do to ensure your kingdom wins the battle is to donate Soluna coins to upgrade your kingdom’s technology. By donating your Soluna coins, you help your kingdom advance and at the same time, you will get the same amount of honor points.
The better and higher your kingdom technology is, the stronger your kingdom becomes — ensuring that victory is in your hands. So, make sure to donate your Soluna coins all the time to deck out your kingdom’s technology.
Here’s several ways you can do to collect Soluna Coins:
- Farm Barbarians: High level barbarians give you more coins (Learn how to chain-farm barbarians).
- Gathering: Gives you some coins (Learn how to gather fast and efficiently).
- Light vs. Darkness: Participate in the event to get a good amount of Soluna Coins.
The honor points are used to rank players based on how many troops you killed, donating Soluna coins to your kingdom’s technology and exploring ruins. Players who rank in the top 10 individual spots will get handsome amounts of rewards.
One way you can collect honor points quickly is to check on your alliance and see if they are doing ancient runs. Then join them for the ride. Try not to miss one of these runs if you are racing to reach the top spot in individual honor points.
Here’s list of rewards that will be distributed to all players based on three following types:
- Individual: Depends on you and your activity. Try to push this as much as you can.
- Alliance: Collection of all individuals activity within your alliance. The more active your alliance is, the better rewards become.
- Kingdom: Collection of all alliances activity within your kingdom. The more active your kingdom is, the better rewards become.
Rewards often feature jackpot items like Gems, Legendary Commander Sculptures, Speedups, Resource Tokens, and more. So make sure to collect and maximize the amount of honor points that your kingdom, your alliance and yourself get over the time.
Light and Darkness Stages
In the Light and Darkness event, it will undergo several stages which rewards you with Soluna Coins, Legendary Sculptures and more. Because the duration of stages can be changed at any time by Lilith Games, so you need to be aware of the changes. In general, each stage lasts between 3 to 5 days.
Light and Darkness Stages
- Gathering: 4 Days
- Speedups Spending: 2 Days
- Destroying Barbarian Forts: 4 Days
- Troops Training: 2 Days
- Kill Event: 3 Days
Stage 1: Gathering
The duration of Gathering is 4 days. In this stage, you need to gather as much as you can. If you have good gathering technology, then farm food and gems. However, if you don’t have good farming technology then focus on wood and food.
Stage 2: Speedups Spending
The next stage is Speedups Spending. You will get to spend your speedups for building, researching and even training troops. I recommend you join an alliance who has good shrines and ask for a kingdom title. Also find an orange rune that has a training buff so that you will get a lot of points.
Stage 3: Destroying Barbarian Forts
This stage is straightforward and simple. Find and destroy barbarian forts as many as you can to maximize points. Use specialized peacekeeping commanders like Minamoto, Cao Cao, Aethelflaed, Boudica and even Belisarius.
Stage 4: Training Troops
This stage is similar to The Mightiest Governor event. All you need to do is upgrade your low-tiered troops to high tier. Doing this method will net you a lot of points. Before you do, ask for a kingdom title and get the 15% training rune buff.
Stage 5: Kill Event
This is the final stage in the Light and Darkness event. It’s often where all the fun begins. Each time you kill and severely wound enemy troops, you will earn points. So, go wild and kill everything in your sight. Hunt farmers and burn your enemies to ash. Though, don’t leave your city unprotected. If you need to recover, teleport to a safe place or use a peace shield.
