Yi Sun-Sin is a legendary commander that was introduced to the game via Rise of Kingdoms Patch Notes v1.0.34 “Golden Kingdom”. He is a garrison-based commander with high defense value and strong leadership capabilities. He will be available to all Kingdoms that are 310 days or older and can be obtain via Wheel of Fortune.

Yi Sun-Sin ROK Guide

Yi Sun-Sin is a Korean admiral and military general whose is famous for his victories against the Japanese navy during the Imjin War in the Joseon Dynasty. He is a celebrated national hero in Korea.

Over the course of his military career, Admiral Yi Sun-Sin fought at least 23 naval engagements all against the Japanese. Most of these naval battles, he was outnumbered and lacked the necessary equipment to defeat the enemies.

His most famous victory happened at the Battle of Myeongnyang, even though he was outnumbered 133 warships to 13 ships. He managed to destroy at least 31 Japanese ships without losing a ship at all. Yi Sun-Sin died of a gunshot wound on December 16th, 1598 during the naval Battle of Noryang.

Requirement: 1000 Rage


Field Battles: Deals direct damage to the target (Damage Factor 1000). Garrison: Deals damage to up to 3 targets in a fan-shaped area (Damage Factor 600), but each target receives 15% less damage per additional target struck. In field battles and garrison battles, damage dealt also reduces target movement speed by 10% for 3 seconds.


  • Direct Damage Factor (Field Battles): 1000 / 1200 / 1400 / 1700 / 2000
  • March Speed Reduction: 10% / 15% / 20%/ 25% / 30%
  • Direct Damage Factor (Garrison): 600 / 800 / 1000 / 1200 / 1400

This active skill is perfect for doing damage against multiple invaders. At maximum skill, it does up to 1,400 damage while serving as the garrison commander. However, in field battles it will deal 2,000 damage with 15% damage reduction for each subsequent targets.

Battle of Myeongnyang
Normal attacks have a 10% chance of increasing your defense by 5%, and all damage by 5% for 3 seconds when this commander is fighting within your Alliance territory or serving as garrison commander at a stronghold.



  • Defense Bonus: 5% / 8% / 11% / 15%/ 20%
  • Damage Bonus: 5% / 7% / 9% / 12%/ 15%

Battle of Myeongnyang is an awesome passive skill that have a small chance to increase troops’ damage and defense under Yi Sun-Sin’s leadership. At maximum skill level, troops will deal 15% extra damage and get 20% defense boost for 3 seconds within alliance territory or while garrisoned.

Increases troop defense by 10%. Increases troop damage by 5% when troop units under your command drops below 50%.

This is a simple passive skill that gives additional defense and damage bonus if your army’s health drops below 50%. Nothing too special about it.
