Commanders that are neutral and can integrate seamless also are excellent choices. If you are thinking of the best commander to pair with Yi Seong-Gye, then look no further because this is where you find our recommended commander pairs!
Cyrus the Great

One of the newest archer commanders that you definitely should pair Yi Seong-Gye with is Cyrus the Great. He comes with a very powerful active skill that deals high damage and causes the target to take 20% increased damage.
Not just only that the target takes increased damage, the archer troops under both Cyrus the Great and Yi Seong-Gye will deal 20% increased attack and gain 20% increased defense. At the same time, both will generate 50 rage per second.
With Yi Seong-Gye 50% skill damage bonus and an already fast rage generation, Cyrus the Great will gain tremendous combat advantages allowing him to maintain high uptime with his active skill and dealing even more damage.
Nebuchadnezzar II

If you are looking for another archer commander to further strengthen what Yi Seong-Gye already does good at dealing multiple targets. Pair him with Nebuchadnezzar II. He is one of the newest archer commanders that is released along with Cyrus the Great.
Nebuchadnezzar II comes with an active skill that deals massive amount of damage up to 5 targets. Plus he is a rallying commander. If you want to start a war where you can deal high damage at the same time supporting your nearby friendly allies, Nebuchadnezzar and Yi Seong-Gye is one of the best PvP combo.
Yi Seong-Gye 50% skill damage bonus benefits Nebuchadnezzar II a lot because it will boost his active skill damage and the 800 direct damage factor while serving as the rallying commander. Which will be increased to 1,200 damage. Best commander pairing for attacking enemy cities and fighting against multiple enemies.
Edward of Woodstock

One of the best commander to pair with right now is Edward of Woodstock. He comes with an incredible powerful active skill damage that does a lot of damage on its own. With Yi Seong-Gye’s passive skill which increases the overall damage of active skill by an additional 50%, Edward of Woodstock will have no problem whittling powerful arrows to finish off your enemies.
Although, his active skill costs slightly more rage compared to other commanders. This is why Yi Seong-Gye troops have a chance to restore rage by 100, which allows Edward to make up for his slow rage generation rate. When you couple both commanders, you will absolutely demolish both in PvP battles and on the field.
Keira

Any players who plans to do Ian’s Ballads and Ceroli Crisis will want to pair Yi Seong-Gye with Keira. This epic commander always can use some helping hand to further increase the overall damage of active skill. While she already does 150% extra damage with her active skill on the target, Yi Seong-Gye will be able to benefit from that damage modifier in addition to the 50% skill damage boost.
Although the 150% damage modifier only works during the event. On regular maps, Keira gives an additional 80% skill damage boost against a single target. This allows the duo to deal massive damage towards your enemy targets with relative ease.
Aethelflaed

As I mentioned previously that Aethelflaed has similar active skill to Yi Seong-Gye’s active skill. She is actually a very good secondary commander to pair. Especially when leveling and killing barbarians quickly on the map. With combined AoE splash damage and increased damage to barbarians, this pair will quickly decimate any barbarian groups within matter of seconds.
If you don’t have Aethelflaed, Lohar and Boudica both are good alternative choices since they can integrate pretty easily without strict requirements.
Julius Caesar

Who doesn’t love expanded troop capacity and increased damage bonus towards enemy forces? If you are looking to further enhance Yi Seong-Gye’s powerful nuking capabilities, you want to pair him with Julius Caesar.
His active skill increases attack and defense by 20%. Furthermore, he increases overall damage by 30% which really plays an important role in boosting archer’s normal attack. The increased damage means this pair can blow past the defense easily.
If you somehow don’t have Julius Caesar, an alternative option will be Scipio Africanus.
Hermann

If you need an extra rage generation builder, you can pair with Hermann. He comes with passive skill which have a chance to gain 100 rage on normal attacks. Not to forget to mention that his active skill silences enemy targets, preventing them from using their active skill and deals high direct damage.
This combo pairs pretty well because both specializes in archer types — which means both will be able to benefit each other. The increased march speed that you get with this combo is nice and helps a lot with moving around during battles.
