Since majority of the talent points are focused on improving rage generation so that Trajan can maintain high uptime with his active skill for the bonuses to take effect. Additionally, when he leads three or more troops type, they all gain attack and defense bonus which is a big factor. Trajan is an awesome legendary commander to have in the roster. He can pair with pretty much any commanders that excels at fighting against other enemy commanders. Being a support commander means his skills can benefit the other commander and improve their combat capabilities by miles compared to other commanders. That’s why we have assembled a list of best commanders to pair with Trajan. Check them out below:

Hannibal Barca

Easily one of the best legendary commanders to pair with is Hannibal Barca. He comes with a strong healing abilities and powerful offensive skill that does ton of damage. Not to forget to mention that his active skill applies damage and defense reduction debuff which benefits a lot when fighting against strong commanders like Mehmed II and Guan Yu.

Trajan and Hannibal Barca makes the perfect pairing because Trajan gives 20% health and defense bonus on the map, while Hannibal Barca further enhances troops’ damage on the go. This means both commanders have each other’s base covered and they do really get very powerful due to massive stat boost thanks to skill damage bonus factor that Trajan has to offer.

Frederick I

Frederick I ROK Commander

If you are looking for a solid commander with strong leadership capabilities. Then look no further because Frederick I is one of the best commanders that deals powerful direct damage with his active skill. Trajan’s 30% skill damage bonus means Frederick I can easily deal over 1,000 damage and increase the amount of damage that the troops does.

Just like Hannibal Barca, Frederick I comes with healing capabilities which goes nicely with Trajan’s talent build that grants 18% additional healing effect. Plus whenever Trajan gets healed, all the troops does 9% extra damage for the next few seconds and that can play an important role in shifting the tide of battle into your favor.

Scipio Africanus

Scipio-Africanus ROK Commander

For some of you who do not have legendary commanders in your roster yet, Scipio Africanus is a decent choice. He offers a solid combination of damage reduction and counterattack bonus. Furthermore, he has healing capabilities just like Hannibal Barca and Frederick that benefits Trajan a lot if you invest talent points into improving the amount of healing effects as well as the temporary damage bonus.

Scipio Africanus have good skill set that greatly enhance the troops damage, which makes him one of the most compatible commander to pair with. Alternatively, you can pair Julius Caesar with Trajan if you do have him and that his skills is maxed out. Essentially, Julius Caesar is a much stronger version of Scipio Africanus for highly developed governors.

Lu Bu

Another stellar legendary commander to pair with is Lu Bu. This commander can dish out incredible amount of damage within short timeframe. Thanks to Trajan’s improved rage generation means Lu Bu can cause high amount of damage in matter of time. Along with 30% skill damage bonus, health and defense buffs will help improve the troops’ combat capabilities in the long run.

If you like to play an offensive playstyle, we recommend Lu Bu as the primary commander and Trajan as the secondary commander in order to take advantage of Lu Bu’s talent build so that it aligns closely to his skill set. Trajan will be able to support afar thanks to his adaptable skill set.

Governors who likes to play offensively will absolutely love to pair Trajan with Charlemagne. This legendary commander does a lot of damage. With the 30% skill damage bonus and fast rage generation means Charlemagne can do even more damage in matter of minutes compared to other commanders. The 20% troops health and defense is also nice to have as Charlemagne is mainly a city attacker commander and stands to benefit a lot from this skill bonus.

While this legendary commander is strong in attacking cities, he does comes with a mini shield which benefits from the 30% skill damage bonus. Instead of generating a shield that have a value of 1,000 points. Charlemagne can create a slightly stronger shield up to 1,300 points that will help this pairing withstand incoming damage for slight longer.

Moctezuma I

Moctezuma I ROK

If you are looking for an alternative commander to level up fast and to kill barbarians quickly. Moctezuma I is one of the best barbarian commanders that can make a quick work out of burning barbarian camps to ground. However with Trajan’s skills, both commanders will be able to benefit from each other.

Moctezuma brings 50% damage bonus against barbarian and deals 1,400 damage with his active skill. In addition to that, he reduces the target health by 50% and recovers portion of the troops by healing whenever he is hit with an active skill. Trajan can help Moctezuma I big time with his 30% skill damage bonus, +20% defense and health bonus. Plus if both commanders are running 3 or more troops type, then that is another 20% additional damage on top of it.
