Background Information

Osman I Rise of Kingdoms Commander

Osman Gazi, also known as Osman I, was the leader of the Ottoman Turks and the founder of the dynasty that established and ruled the Ottoman Empire. After his father died in 1281, when Osman was just 23 years old, he took up the leadership of the Kayi Clan. Soon after, mercenaries from all over the Islamic world began streaming into his realm to join the fight against the Orthodox Empire.

In 1301, Osman successfully defeated a sizeable Byzantine force and began putting pressure on Byzantine-controlled areas. That alarmed the Byzantines, who quickly fled the Anatolian countryside. Byzantium’s leaders were determined to prevent Osman from crossing into Europe and attempted to check his westward expansion.

Osman continued to press on, however, and soon captured the Byzantine city of Ephesus. That brought another massive, diverse influx of migrants, warriors, and adventurers into Ottoman territory. Osman was both a skilled commander and an able administrator.

He expanded his realm through policies of tolerance and cooperation with Greek Christians. The Greeks welcomed the order, stability, and security that Osman’s rule brought, which came when the central administration in Constantinople was slowly falling into disarray.

Free from government interference, Greeks and Turks began to marry and create families, and eventually, many Christians adopted the Muslim faith. Religious tolerance became the defining characteristic of the Ottoman Empire for the next 600 years.

Best Osman I Skills

Getting to know Osman I has to offer the skill set is the most important part of our commander guide.

Mainly because Osman I is one of the fewest epic commanders with powerful nuke abilities, which makes him highly deadly to clash heads-on.

Although, he comes with good passive skills that make him a highly desired commander.

The Empire Awakens is Osman I’s main nuke skill. That makes it extremely important to have talent builds that generate rage fast enough to use this ability more often.

Max out this active skill first before upgrading your commander to take advantage of its damage bonus.

Radiance of Bursa
Radiance of BursaAfter attacking a city for than 30 seconds, increases troop attack for a duration of 120 seconds.

Attack Bonus: 5% / 7% / 9% / 12% / 15%

Radiance of Bursa is a decent passive skill. Although, it requires that the troops under Osman I’s leadership attack a city for more than 30 seconds to gain a 15% attack bonus.

In particular, the talent build that steers toward conquest will benefit the most from this passive skill due to improved defense and attack value.

Sword of Osman

Direct Damage Factor: 150 / 200 / 250 / 300 / 400

Again, Sword of Osman adds more damage value to Osman I’s active skill, which places even more emphasis on building rage fast enough to benefit the most from his nuke active skill.

Ideally, you want to max this out before moving on to the fourth skill.

The 10% troop capacity bonus that this skill gives Osman I is absolutely a dealbreaker. Not only that, you have powerful damage-dealing capabilities.

The added troop capacity means Osman I will be able to command more soldiers and deal more damage. Especially in the late game.

Rising Empire
Rising Empire ROKStrikes a powerful blow with the Sword of Osman, dealing massive damage (Damage Factor 1100) to the target.

The Rising Empire enhances Osman I’s existing active skill by further increasing the damage factor to 1,100.

That pushes the overall damage output to 1,500 when used in conjunction with Sword of Osman, making it a deadly active skill.

For best active skill performance, it works well with talent builds that focus on building rage fast.

Best Osman I Talent Trees

We have included the top 3 best talent builds for Osman I. In this commander guide, we will share our talent builds and explain how they will benefit you.

Keep in your mind that it depends on the kingdom you are in.

You might find yourself in a situation where you need to provide field support and, in some cases, battling heads-on with your opponents.

This is why we provide three talent builds so that you can tailor the best fit to your needs:

Field Talent Build

Osman I Field Talent Tree

The Field build focuses on empowering the troops’ attack, defense, and health value under Osman I’s leadership.

Furthermore, it comes with improved rage generation, making this talent build ideal for providing support to your alliance members.

Not to mention that this talent build also incorporates healing effects, which will pair well with commanders with healing abilities like Cleopatra VII.

If you prefer to play a support role with Osman I while taking heavy damage and dishing our serious punches, this talent build is the perfect pick.

Conquering Talent Build

Osman I Conquering Talent Tree

The conquering talent build is excellent for any player who wants to be able to conquer the enemies.

This talent build specializes in improving your troops’ defense and attack value against an enemy garrison. Furthermore, it increases Osman I’s rage generation slightly.

Although, most of the points are invested in increasing the troops’ attack value to provide consistent damage.

That makes this conquering talent build an ideal choice to pair with Osman I, thanks to his nuking active skill.

PvP Build

Osman I PvP Talent Tree

Suppose you want to be able to nuke your enemies quickly. This talent build is the best pick. As you can see, the points are invested in rage-building skills.

Your troops will have a 10% chance to restore 100 rage per normal attack. Plus, every time Osman I uses his active skill, a portion of rage is restored.

Ultimately, if you want to nuke your enemies into oblivion without any hesitation, this talent build will work for Osman I.

Additionally, if you have Genghis Khan, pair him with Osman I, and you will have one of the best nuker commander combos with pure cavalry build.

Best Commander Pairs

Whether you are looking for a commander to pair with Osman I or not.

The commander pairing feature becomes available the moment you star up your Osman I to Star Level 3.

Although, as I mentioned previously, this commander excels at nuking his enemies to rubble, there are plenty of good commanders that make a great combo.

Check out the best commander pairs below to obtain optimal combat performance:

Ragnar Lodbrok

Ragnar Lodbrok Commander Rise of Kingdoms

Governors that like to raid enemy cities will want to pair Ragnar Lodbrok with Osman I.

Ragnar Lodbrok is one of the Vikings commanders introduced along with Bjorn Ironside and specializes in Leadership, Conquering, and Attack talents.

If you are looking for a commander to maximize your overall damage output against enemy cities,

Ragnar Lodbrok is a very effective commander thanks to his healing effect debuff.

In addition to that, whenever your commander activates their active skill, your troops will deal 40% increased damage for the next five seconds.

It’s instrumental in providing a steady flow of significant damage towards the enemies.

Plus, both commanders will get a +20% attack which further increases overall skill damage.

Both Ragnar Lodbrok and Osman I are good commander pairing.

Julius Caesar

Rise of Kingdoms Julius Caesar

Suppose you plan to roll your Osman I as the city conqueror commander.

Pair him with Julius Caesar since he comes with skills that reduces the enemy’s defense and attack while fighting garrisons.

Furthermore, he has active skill that will boost your troops’ attack and defense value, amplifying and transforming into a powerful garrison nuke combo.

Julius Caesar also comes with troop capacity, which will add another 15% more to the overall army size.

This combo is great if you want to do a serious amount of damage and zero the enemy effectively.

However, if you don’t have Julius Caesar in your commander tab, go with Scipio Africanus for a mixed army or Mehmed II for pure cavalry.

Trajan

Trajan Commander Rise of Kingdoms

One of the strongest legendary commanders in the game is Trajan.

If you are looking for a commander that can increase Osman I’s active skill damage and provide an additional rage boost to inflict even more damage quickly in a matter of seconds, you may want to pair him with Trajan.

This legendary commander comes with several significant combat stat bonuses when commanding three or more troops type.

For example, if Osman I and Trajan are commanding three or more troops, all will gain +10% increased troop capacity, deal 300 additional damage, and take 20% less damage.

Trajan will grant a Charge stack that increases overall damage done by 6% per normal attack and stacks up to 10 times.

That makes Trajan an excellent commander pick to pair with Osman I.

Saladin

Best Saladin Commander ROK

Meet Saladin. He is one of the best cavalry commanders in Rise of Kingdoms.

Saladin is a swift commander and excels at inflicting a massive amount of damage with his active skill.

He will have no problem making quick work out of your enemies. Thanks to Osman I’s flexible leadership and skillset, he works exceptionally well with Saladin when rolling as a pure cavalry troop only.

Saladin reduces the amount of damage taken from counterattacks by 20% and takes less damage from active skills by 30%.

In addition to that, Saladin can control the enemy target’s movement, reducing their march speed and healing effect by 50%.

That allows for a quick and easy kill, along with Osman I’s powerful direct damage skill.

Genghis Khan

Genghis Khan ROK

Believe it or not, Genghis Khan is an excellent secondary commander who makes pairing with Osman worthwhile.

Genghis Khan comes with an active skill that deals heavy damage. Best of all, it has a 30% chance to activate for free at no additional cost to rage.

When you do this combo, you will get the best nuking pair out of all, and everyone will tremble before you as you charge at them onto the battlefield.

While it is impossible to get Genghis Khan right away until the kingdom has aged more than 120 days, Baibars is an excellent choice.

You get to keep the march speed for doing a pure cavalry army as long as both commanders only have cavalry.

The PvP Nuke talent build works well with this combo.

Sun Tzu

Rise of Kingdoms Sun Tzu Preview

Suppose you favor doing extra damage to multiple targets while boosting your overall active skill output.

Then you should pair Sun Tzu with Osman I. The 20% increased damage for active skill is a big push that will let you wreak havoc on the enemies.

Plus, this combo will work pretty well if you play on the defensive side when fighting multiple targets.

Sun Tzu will be able to rain damage on various targets while Osman I dishes out significant punches on them.

You can get Sun Tzu right away at the beginning of the game if you choose China as your starting civilization.

This commander pairing works well with PvP field talent build.

Aethelflaed

Best Aethelflaed Commander ROK Guide

If you need a solid legendary commander for killing barbarians that will excel with mixed armies, Aethelflaed works surprisingly well with Osman I.

She is well equipped with active skill that hits multiple targets and deals additional damage towards neutral units.

Which makes her one of the best peacekeeping commanders in the game for Free-to-Play players.

In this combo, Aethelflaed will take the primary commander and Osman I as the secondary commander.

That is because you will need Aethelflaed’s main peacekeeping talent build to function.

One perk about this combo is that both cover each other in single and multiple targets.

Governors can obtain Aethelflaed quickly by doing the Expedition Mode daily.

Hannibal Barca

Best Hannibal Barca Commander Rise of Kingdoms

Another solid commander to pair with is Hannibal Barca. He is one of the best rally commanders in Rise of Kingdoms who also excels with mixed armies.

When you do three or more armies, you get 10% bonus damage to all troops.

Plus, he can heal troops when attacking garrisons, and there is no timer on it. That means he has a chance to heal every second if you are lucky.

Whenever Hannibal activates his skill, your troops will do an additional 15% more damage and reduces enemy defense by 25% while doing a moderate amount of damage.

Given the nature that both Osman I and Hannibal Barca are excellent conquerors, they synergy wells together.
