Best Edward of Woodstock Talent Trees
In this part, we will talk about which talent builds to use for this legendary commander. Because of the fact that he is easy to get killed on the battlefield, it is best to position him as the support commander on the battlefield while your more powerful armies take the frontline like Alexander the Great for instance. Here, we have 2 best talent builds to choose for Edward of Woodstock.
PvP Talent Build

One of the best talent builds is PvP and it works well with his skill set. Although it doesn’t generate rage as fast as the second talent build, this is designed to provide blanket buffs to archers, specifically in attack, defense, march speed and health. A solid talent build for making your troops slightly more tanky in the heat of battle.
Nuker Talent Build

If you want to transform Edward of Woodstock into one of the most powerful nukers available in your arsenal, this talent build is the way to go. Instead of investing points to boost your archers, the majority of the points goes to increasing the speed of rage generation and doing even more damage with skills. Good choice for dealing major blows.

Best Commander Pairs
Before we list out the best commanders to pair with Edward of Woodstock, I want to point out that he specializes in archers. Which means he works the best and gets the most boost when pairing with other commanders who are also specialized in archers. Here’s our recommended commanders for pairing with Edward of Woodstock, the Black Prince:
Yi Seong-Gye

If you are looking for a secondary commander to pair with who can massively boost Edward of Woodstock’s combat capabilities, Yi Seong-Gye is absolutely a beast. He gives a 50% damage bonus to skills and has a small chance to increase damage of archers by 80%. Plus a chance to gain 100 rage which means Edward of Woodstock can whittle his active skill more often.
If you are concerned about lack of the ability to do splash damage, Yi Seong-Gye has your back. Because he can hit up to 5 targets in a full circle area. Great for handling multiple targets while the primary commander does all the heavy lift.
Tomyris

Tomyris is another solid commander to further increase the damage of a single target. She isn’t like other commanders since poison is her specialty. But when you pair her with Edward of Woodstock, both get damage bonus and improved defense against cavalry.
Tomyris can do upwards to roughly 2,000 damage using her active skill when depleting all the 15 stacks. Making her a solid commander for delivering massive blows in addition to Archer’s Honor.
Ramesses II

Another good commander to pair with is Ramesses II. He gives a solid combination of attack and defense bonus, making this pair quite tanky to help offset Edward of Woodstock’s fragile defense. Furthermore, Ramesses II is an excellent debuffer as he reduces the enemy’s defense, making it easier to do more damage.
Bonus point, if you have Ramesses II maxed out then his active skill will prevent them from healing for 2 seconds. Which will hinder their ability to withstand battle in the long run. Good for killing your enemies quickly.
Cyrus the Great

If you want to build one of the most powerful glass cannon force, pair Edward of the Woodstock with Cyrus the Great. He stands to benefit the most thanks to 25% skill damage bonus which increases his overall passive skill damage output.
In exchange, when Cyrus the Great activates his active skill, both commanders gets 20% increased attack and defense for 3 seconds. At the same time, both commanders will generate 50 rage per second.
This is tremendous for Edward of Woodstock since it takes quite a bit time for him to build rage. At the same time, Cyrus the Great is capable of generating rage fast enough to utilize the enhanced skill damage bonus. A perfect and deadly combo.
Nebuchadnezzar II

Edward of Woodstock lacks one of the most important offensive competent, AoE splash damage. This is where Nebuchadnezzar II comes into the play. He is equipped with an active skill that deals massive amount of damage and hits up to 5 targets.
Thanks to Edward of Woodstock 25% skill damage bonus, it helps Nebuchadnezzar II do even more damage against multiple targets. However, if you need to launch a rallying attack, you can pair Edward with Nebuchadnezzar II.
When rallying, both commanders will deal 30% increased counterattack damage and applies 30% march speed debuff against target. Additionally, Nebuchadnezzar II deals 800 (+25% = 1,000 damage) towards target while serving as the rally commander. Good combo if you want a powerful rallying force.
