Background Information

Constantine I Rise of Kingdoms Guide

Constantine the Great, also known as Constantine I or Saint Constantine, was a Roman Emperor of Illyrian and Greek origin. As emperor, Constantine enacted administrative, financial, social and military reforms to strengthen the empire.

He restructured the government, separating civil and military authorities. To combat inflation he introduced the solidus, a new gold coin that became the standard for Byzantine and European currencies for more than a thousand years.

The Roman army was reorganized to consist of mobile field units and garrison soldiers capable of countering internal threats and barbarian invasions.

Constantine I is a legendary commander and has a nationality of Byzantium. Sole Augustus simply increases the troops attack by 15% and defense by 5% under Constantine I’s leadership. A nice minor bonus to his overall combat capabilities.

Best Constantine I Talent Trees

Because Constantine I is a defensive commander, he is not flexible and doesn’t have a lot of solid talent builds to offer aside from serving the role as main garrison commander. Although, in this part we have 2 talent builds that you definitely can work around with Constantine I, both as a garrison commander and in PvP / Field battles of your choice.

Garrison Talent Build

Constantine I Garrison Talent Build ROK

This is the preferred talent build for Constantine I. It focuses on increasing his combat capabilities as the garrison commander, expanding his defense, attack and health values. The garrison talent build also further increases Constantine I ‘s speed of rage building which makes it possible for him to keep the enemy forces weakened, while delivering heavy blows.

PvP / Field Talent Build

Constantine I PvP and Field Talent Build ROK

You don’t actually have to keep this legendary commander as a garrison commander if you want to be able to take advantage of his powerful healing and large health pool in PvP / field battles. This talent build focuses on increasing the effect of healing so that it is more impactful. Plus the speed of rage generation is improved that keeps your targets weakened. Additionally, infantry get march speed, health, defense and attack bonus. A good talent build for PvP battles.

Star Level & Talent Point Upgrade Priority

In the next part of our Best Constantine I commander guide, I am going to talk about star level & talent point upgrade priority to maximize your commander’s combat potential. Here’s how to prioritize your Constantine I effectively:

Garrison Talent Build:

  • Keep Constantine I at 1 ⭐ until you max out his first skill.
  • Level Constantine I to 3 ⭐ and max out his third skill.
  • Level Constantine I to 4 ⭐ and max out all of his skills.

PvP / Field Talent Build:

  • Keep Constantine I at 1 ⭐ until you max out his first skill.
  • Level Constantine I to 2 ⭐ and max out his second skill.
  • Level Constantine I to 4 ⭐ and max out all of his skills.

Best Commander Pairs

In the next part of our best Constantine I commander guide for beginners, we are going to talk about primary and secondary commanders to pair with him. In this list, you will be surprised by how deadly these pairs can be when used in conjunction with Constantine I’s skill set and talent builds.

Alexander the Great

Alexander the Great Commander ROK

There’s so many reasons why this pair is considered the Bulwark Combo which is because Alexander the Great gives a massive defense boost to Constantine I’s already powerful defensive capabilities.

In addition to that, Alexander the Great can pull up a shield which will gain 40% damage reduction from active skill. This pair will pretty much stop nukers in their path easily. A must-have combo for any player who wants a solid defender pair.

Alternatively, you can roll with Charles Martel as he is a decent defender and focuses on maximizing the troops’ damage that will help accelerate the battle quite a bit.

Mehmed II

Mehmed II Commander Rise of Kingdoms

If you want to roll Constantine I in a PvP battle / field wars, then it is best to pair him with Mehmed II as he can benefit from powerful defensive values. Plus he can easily work around pure infantry, making him one of the best pick commanders in Rise of Kingdoms.

Alternatively, you can go with Osman I, Julius Caesar, or Scipio Africanus if you don’t have Mehmed II as they all have similar skill sets.

Charles Martel

Charles Martel Commander ROK

Another solid commander to pair with is Charles Martel. He is incredible for delivering extra defense and can help deal more damage. Not to forget to mention that he is capable of providing shield to cushion some of heavy blows.

In addition to that, he is a dedicated garrison commander which means he stands to benefit a lot from partnering with Constantine I.

Richard I

Richard I Commander ROK

If you are looking for an incredibly tanky commander just to transform your defense level where it becomes war of attrition. Richard I is an amazing commander that will pretty much absorb majority of heavy blows. Thanks to his powerful self-healing capability and debuffs which weakens up to 5 targets.

Richard I is considered one of the best commander that can handle multiple targets when defending your city. With Constantine I’s already massive health pool, Richard I will benefit a lot from this because of his superior healing capability.

Sun Tzu

Sun Tzu Commander ROK

Sun Tzu adds an interesting twist to the game for players who want to be able to have the flexibility of playing as both garrison commander and on the field. He is equipped with AoE splash damage, which he can hit up to 5 targets and pretty much can do a moderate amount of threat.

However, if you don’t have Sun Tzu (in this case if you aren’t playing as China), then a good alternative choice is Kusunoki Masashige (again, if you aren’t playing as Japan).
