But if you are new to Ruins Exploration and isn’t sure where to start. Then stick around and read through our guide to learn more about this awesome activity.
How Ruins Exploration Works
Exploring ruins is pretty simple and straightforward. There’s a few rules which explains how the Ruins Exploration exactly works in details:

- Every 4 hours, your scout will provide you a clue to find the location of a ruin.
- The clue will be shown in form of a bubble on your ruin’s map.
- You can have up to 5 clues at a time. The earliest clue will disappear.
- The earliest clues found will be shaken on the exploration map as a reminder.
- When all the clues have been explored, you can continue to explore Norheim and find more ruins yourself.
- When you explored all ruins, your scouts will look for deeper secrets about the ruins that you can’t find on your own.
Ruins Exploration Level
There are three level of Ruins. Each level requires higher Insight to be able to explore them. Without the required Insight, your scouts cannot explore these ruins. You can earn more Insight by exploring ruins across Norheim.
Cilo Ruins Level 1

Cilo Ruins is a level 1 ruins that the Lords can start exploring immediately the moment they are able to. Cilo Ruins can be found in Zone 1 regions which is shaded in light blue. Upon exploring them you will receive the following rewards:
- Prophetic Remains

- 5 x 3m Research Speedup
- 10 x 1m Research Speedup

Calliope Ruins Level 2

When you start exploring Zone 2 regions, you will find several Calliope Ruins, which is a level 2 ruins. They offer significant better rewards compared to Cilo Ruins. Before you are able to explore Calliope Ruins, you will need at least 4,000 Insight. Below is a list of rewards that you can get by exploring them:

Ruins Exploration Side Story
As I mentioned before in the beginning, each zone comes with its own side story that tells the history. Whenever you explore ruins in that specific zone, they will bring back a piece and you have to assemble them together to fully realize the story behind the zone.

Upon completing the zone’s story through ruins exploration, you will get rewards. Afterwards, you can continue to explore ruins in that zone to get an additional 50 gems for area completion. Which I highly recommended doing so as you will get Insight that helps you advance to high level ruins.
These side stories is a fun way for the Lords to learn history about Norheim. You can do them casually or if you want to progress fast, then you can explore these ruins on your own without clue.
Ruins Exploration Tips
Exploring ruins do take time. But if you are just starting off then you need to take advantage of these Ruins Exploration tips because it will help you in the long run. If you want to play game smart and the easiest route, follow these tips:
- Save Prophetic Remains whenever you can until you are able to explore Level 3 Ruins (Polyhymnia). You will be able to explore them instantly with Prophetic Remains.
- Explore Level 1 Ruins early in the beginning of game and without clues as many as you can find. You will be able to gain headstart over Lords who relies on clues.
